The Dell C6600 holds 4 Nodes. Either the AMD C6615 or the Intel C6620 Node Server.
You can not mix nodes.
This is 1 of the 2 Supported Nodes. The Dell C6600 Enclosure CTO must be configured separately.
The Dell C6620 CTO is a server Node that gets placed into the rear of the C6600 Rack Enclosure. The Rack Enclosure can handle up to 4 systems in one enclosure. (2U4N)
The next-generation compute-dense Dell PowerEdge C6620 is a multi-node (2U4N) server designed for compute-intensive workloads. Right-sized low-latency storage makes it ideal for IOPS-heavy workloads. With improved Dell DLC (direct liquid cooling) support and expanded air-cooling coverage, thermal efficiencies can help lower energy and ownership costs while helping scale your business.
Delivering breakthrough innovation, the PowerEdge C6620 enables high-performance and scale-out computing with performance and density. Requiring only half the footprint of 1U rack servers, take advantage of lowered TCO with half the infrastructure.
The Dell PowerEdge C6600 is a high-performance server designed to boost outcomes for core applications such as:
The Dell OpenManage™ systems management portfolio delivers a secure, efficient, and comprehensive solution for PowerEdge servers. Simplify, automate and centralize one-to-many management with the OpenManage Enterprise console and iDRAC.
Security is integrated into every phase of the PowerEdge lifecycle, including protected supply chain and factory-to-site integrity assurance. Silicon-based root of trust anchors end-to-end boot resilience while Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls ensure trusted operations
The C6620 Node Server (2U4N) is only supported in the following Chassis.
The Dell C6620 supports both air-cooled and Direct Connect Liquid Cooling (DLC). Liquid Cooling is not supported with all Risers configurations. The tubes for the DLC take over Slot 2. Please read the Riser configuration table below for more detailed information.
The Extended Heat sink (T0FVH) comes with a bracket that will need to be installed in PCIe Slot 2. The Extended Heat Sink is used in the following configurations.

For more detailed information about the Thermal Restrictions. Please view the manual below and look for "Supported Ambient Temperature".
On a two-socket configuration, the C6620 can support up to 16 DDR5 DIMs. This node server only supports registered ECC DDR5 DIMM. If a DIMM is not installed a blank must be in its place.

| DIMM speed (MT/s) | DIMM type | DIMM capacity | Ranks per DIMM | Data width | DRAM density (Gb) | DRAM package type | SDDC support | DIMM voltage (V) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4800 | RDIMM | 16 | 1 | x8 | 16 | SDP | All Modes | 1.1 |
| 4800 | RDIMM | 32 | 2 | x8 | 16 | SDP | All Modes | 1.1 |

| 4800 | RDIMM | 128 | 2 | x8 | 16 | SDP | All Modes | 1.1 |
The C6620 Node server also has support for up to two 75 W (Low-Profile) GPUs. Along with a few different riser configurations.

LOM MezzanineThe Node Server comes with a Broadcom BCM5720 Gigabit Ethernet controller. This along with the other PCIe slots are the only way to expand the networking capabilities of the C6620 Node Server. When using the LOM ports you save a PCIe slot. This is very important since there are only 2 PCIe 5.0 slots on the back of the C6620 Node Server.
OCP 3.0The Node Server comes with a 4 port OCP 3.0 slot with speeds up to 25Gb per port. This OCP along with the LOM and the PCIe slots are the only way to expand the networking capabilities of the C6620 Node Server. When using the OCP ports you save a PCIe slot. This is very important since there are only 2 PCIe 5.0 slots on the back of the C6620 Node Server.
The Dell C6620 supports the NVMe and EDSFF Drives with the PERC 12 controller. The H965i PERC 12 controller can handle up to 8 drives per controller without a backplane switch. The system also supports the BOSS-N1 Riser which has 2 M.2 NVMe SSD drives for boot as well as PERC 11 cards.
Dell's RAID controller options offer performance improvements, including the fPERC solution. fPERC provides a base RAID HW controller without consuming a PCIe slot by using a small form factor and high-density connector to the base planar.
| Controller type | Description |
|---|---|
| Internal controllers | PERC H965, PERC H755, PERC H355 |
| Internal boot | Boot Optimized Storage Subsystem (BOSS-N1): HWRAID 2 X M.2 SSDs, uSD card |
| External HBA (non-RAID) | HBA355i |
| Software RAID | S160 |
