The Dell™ PowerEdge™ C8000 chassis can easily handle multiple workloads in the same chassis, or scaled across racks to help reduce response times while easing serviceability.

The PowerEdge C8000 series packs up to eight single‑wide sleds, four double‑wide sleds, or a variety of combinations to create the ideal mix to meet your needs.

Load the chassis with three types of interchangeable, hot‑pluggable sleds:

  • C8220 — Single-wide compute sled
  • C8220X — Double-wide compute/GPU sled
  • C8000XD — Double-wide storage sled

NVIDIA® Tesla™ GPUs can speed high-performance computing (HPC) applications by up to 10x, with up to 665 GFLOPS of double‑precision performance and 1.33 TFLOPS of single‑precision performance.

Storage options, such as 2.5” or 3.5” SAS/SATA or 2.5” SSDs can boost storage density up to 192TB per chassis.

Heatsink & Fans

The C8000 Rack Enclosure comes with two rows of three fans for a total of 6 x 120 mm non-redundant, hot-pluggable, high-efficiency fans with PWM control.

Node/Blade Options:

You have 4 Sled options that can be mixed and matched for whatever configuration you might need. Below is a short breakdown of each sled/blade.

Sled bays 5 and 6 support installation of two power sleds or two C8220 compute sleds or a combination of the two sled types.

For server enclosure with internal power source, install C8000XD storage sleds in sled bays 3 to 10 only.

Power & Dimensions
Powering the Rack Enclosure

The C8000 has two Power Options. One option is the Power Sleds which can be installed in Bays 5 or 6. This type of power is considered Internal Power. The other option is to plug the power source into the back of the C8000 Chassis. This is referred to as the External Power Source with the power coming from the Cabinet. The Power Sled also has internal fans to keep the PSU cool. If the Internal Fans in the Power Sled fail you must replace the entire Power Sled.

Remember that the Internal Power Source Sleds can only be installed in Bay 5 and Bay 6 and is not mandatory since you can have the power from the Cabinet as another option.
