Dell PowerEdge R860

The Dell PowerEdge R860 is a four-socket server in a 2U rack chassis, running up to four 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 60 cores each and optional Intel QuickAssist Technology. It offers 64 DDR5 DIMM slots (up to 16TB at up to 4800 MT/s), up to eight PCIe Gen5 slots, and up to 24x 2.5" SAS/SATA/NVMe or 8x EDSFF E3.S front drives plus rear bays. Managed by iDRAC9, with air cooling or optional Direct Liquid Cooling, it is built for in-memory databases, analytics and other business-critical applications. Fully configurable.

No. Dell's spec sheet lists GPU options as N/A for the R860. For four-socket GPU acceleration, the 4U PowerEdge R960 supports up to four 400W double-width GPUs.

The R860 moves from 2nd Gen to 4th Gen Xeon Scalable processors, from 48 DDR4 slots to 64 DDR5 slots (up to 16TB), and from six PCIe Gen3 slots to eight Gen5. It adds EDSFF E3.S NVMe, an OCP 3.0 slot and optional liquid cooling, while dropping the R840's GPU and FPGA options.
