Dell PowerEdge R520

The Dell PowerEdge R520 is a 2U two-socket rack server built for storage-heavy work at a sensible cost. It runs up to two Intel Xeon E5-2400 or E5-2400 v2 processors with up to 10 cores each, 12 DDR3 DIMM slots for up to 384GB at 1600 MT/s, and up to eight 3.5" hot-plug drives. With up to four PCIe slots, dual 1GbE, a choice of cabled or hot-plug redundant power and iDRAC7, it suits file, backup and database duty. Fully configurable.

It has 12 DDR3 DIMM sockets for registered or unbuffered modules, up to 384GB at speeds up to 1600 MT/s.

Up to eight 3.5-inch hot-plug SAS, nearline SAS or SATA drives, with 2.5-inch SAS drives and SSDs also supported, using PERC S110, H310, H710 or H710P. Please specify your capacity needs when you submit your quote configuration.

A non-redundant cabled 550W supply, or hot-plug redundant 495W, 750W (Platinum or Titanium) or 1100W AC units, plus an 1100W DC option. Redundant supplies and a second processor add extra fans for fault-tolerant cooling.

The Gen 13 R530 keeps the same 2U, eight 3.5-inch drive design and 12 DIMM slots, but moves to Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 processors, DDR4-2400 memory, four 1GbE ports, a fifth PCIe slot and iDRAC8.
