Dell PowerEdge R730

The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U dual-socket rack server built on Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 and v4 processors with up to 22 cores per CPU. It offers 24 DDR4 DIMM slots (up to 3TB), up to 7 PCIe 3.0 slots, support for up to two GPU accelerators, and flexible storage with up to 16x 2.5" or 8x 3.5" hot-plug drives. The predecessor to the R740, it remains a reliable, budget-friendly refurbished platform for virtualization, databases and VDI. Fully configurable.

We custom-configure the R730 with 8 x 3.5-inch, 8 x 2.5-inch or 16 x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-plug drives (HDD or SSD), with an optional Internal Dual SD Module for mirrored hypervisor boot. The R730 does not support NVMe drives. Please specify your capacity and performance requirements when submitting your quote configuration.

The R730 runs Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 processors with up to 22 cores, 24 DDR4 DIMM slots at up to 2400 MT/s, up to 7 PCIe 3.0 slots and iDRAC8. The R740 moves to 1st or 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable with up to 28 cores, memory at up to 2933 MT/s, up to 8 PCIe Gen3 slots and iDRAC9, while the R730 remains a budget-friendly choice for proven workloads.

The R730 has 24 DDR4 DIMM slots supporting RDIMMs and LRDIMMs at up to 2400 MT/s. It holds up to 3TB with 128GB LRDIMMs in a dual-processor configuration, or up to 768GB with RDIMMs.

The R730 supports up to two double-width 300W GPUs or four single-width 150W accelerators for compute workloads. GPU configurations require two processors, redundant 1100W power supplies and the GPU enablement kit.

It supports dual Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 processors (up to 22 cores each with v4), 24 DDR4 DIMM slots (up to 3TB RAM) and up to 7 PCIe 3.0 expansion slots in a 2U chassis.
