For object storage, the ultra-dense Apollo 4510 includes 1 server and up to 68 Large Form Factor (LFF) drives in a 4U chassis for a maximum of 680 TB per system.. For Hadoop® and other Big Data solutions, the Apollo 4530 uniquely offers 3 servers per chassis, ideal for housing 3 copies of data in a single system.

The HPE Smart Storage Battery supports up to two Smart Array Controllers per node. This dual controller configuration is only supported in the 4510 and 4520 Node.
Below is a table outlining the Controller QTY per Chassis. If you need 4 PCIe slots, 2 Processors are required.

The total PCIe slots available depend on the number of processors selected. One processor provides support for 2 PCIe slots (slots 1 and 2) and Two processors provide support for 4 PCIe slots per XL450 Node Server. Each riser has 1 FlexibleLOM slot and 4 PCIe slots.
The Apollo 4520 System offers an extra PCIe Riser options. The HPE Apollo 4500 x16 I/O Module Kit (855128-B21). Which contains one x16 bus width slot and three x8 PCIe slots.
