The optical disk drive is optional and is shipped with 8 x 3.5-inch backplane configuration.

Built around 3rd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, the Dell EMC PowerEdge R750xs is engineered to meet distinct, customer-driven requirements while delivering strong enterprise performance for scale-out environments. It combines compelling compute performance with high-speed memory capacity, ample I/O bandwidth, and flexible storage to handle demanding data workloads.

Drive Options

The R750xs supports both SAS/SATA and NVMe drives, delivering enhanced performance and reduced latency for demanding workloads. Supported configurations are outlined below.

Memory

The PowerEdge R750xs supports up to 16 DIMMs, reaching up to 1TB of total memory at speeds up to 3200 MT/s. It uses registered DIMMs (RDIMMs), which reduce memory loading via a buffer and enable greater density — allowing the platform to hit its maximum memory capacity.

Actual maximum memory speed depends on the installed processor's specifications — while DIMMs support up to 3200 MT/s, the CPU itself may cap that speed lower. Refer to the supported processors table in the manuals below.

Storage Controllers

The fPERC solution is one of Dell's RAID controller offerings, providing a base RAID hardware controller that doesn't consume a PCIe slot, made possible by its compact form factor and high-density connector to the base planar.
