The Dell PowerEdge R7615 Rack Server is a highly scalable Single-socket 2U rack server that delivers performance and outstanding TCO. It is ideal for the following workloads and applications
Delivering breakthrough innovation for traditional and emerging workloads, including software-defined storage, data analytics, and virtualization using the latest performance and density with optional acceleration.
Invest wisely in a platform that grows with your business
- Using AMD EPYC 4th generation processor to deliver up to 50% more core count per single socket platform in an innovative air-cooled chassis.
- Enables DDR5 at 4800 MT/s memory and PCIe Gen5 with double the speed of previous Gen4 for faster access and transport of data optimizing application output.
- Optional DLC is available to more efficiently cool high-performance processors.
- Deliver more virtual machines per physical host using increased core count and higher memory footprint than previous generations.
- Improve responsiveness or reduce app load time for power users with up to 6 x single-wide full-length GPUs or 3 x double-wide full-length GPUs.
Expect increased expandability by storing more data in one server, saving space in your data center
- Deliver more memory density with DDR5 (up to 3 TB of RAM) providing greater memory capacity per socket.
- Support lower latency higher performance NVMe SSD in a hardware RAID solution helps maximize compute performance.
Cyber Resilient Architecture for Zero Trust IT environment & operations Security is integrated into every phase of the PowerEdge lifecycle, including a protected supply chain and factory-to-site integrity assurance. Silicon-based root of trust anchors end-to-end boot resilience while Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls ensure trusted operations.

Read Drive Options
The R7615 has two rear drive options that are only supported in the 12LFF and the 24SFF Backplane Chassis Configurations. There is a Stacked Side-by-Side 4xSFF drive cage and a Side-by-Side 2xSFF Drive cage. These will take over the PCIe slots that use up the same space. The Table below will show you all the configurations possible for this Dell PowerEdge R7615 Rack Server.
The Dell PowerEdge R7615 supports One 4th Generation AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor with up to 128 cores per processor.
Heatsink & FansThe PowerEdge R7615 requires various cooling components based on CPU TDP, storage modules, rear drives, GPU, and persistent memory to maintain optimum thermal performance. If a GPU is installed you will need to install the L-Type Heat Sink. Air cooling or Optional Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) are the two options for cooling the system. Required for certain CPU SKUs and/or configuration. DLC cooling is not a self-contained solution, it requires rack-level product support (see DLC 3000 or DLC 7000 products).
The PowerEdgeR7615system system supports up to six high-performance silver grade (HPR SLVR) or high-performance gold (HPR Gold) cooling fans.
For all the details about the cooling specs of this server, please view the “Thermal restriction matrix” on the Dell R7615 Installation and Service Manual.

With only 1 Processor in the Dell PowerEdge R7615 Rack Server. It can only hold 12 DDR5 DIMM slots and supports RDIMM up to 3 TB max, speeds up to 4800 MT/s. The R7615 only supports registered ECC DDR5 DIMMs.

| Note: The system allows either LOM card or an OCP card or both to be installed in the system | |
| Note: On the system board, the supported OCP PCIe width is x8; when x16 PCIe width is installed, it is downgraded to x8. | |
The Dell R7615 supports PERC 11 and PERC 12 cards for both RAID and Networking purposes. There are a few configurations where you can install both NVME and SAS/SATA drives in the same Chassis. This is done in two ways. Select the 24 Bay Universal Chassis that has Direct Connect NVMe ports for up to 8 drives. Or you can choose the 8 SFF NVMe Chassis and install an extra 8 SFF Universal backplane for a total of 16 drives. The 8 SFF NVMe Backplane is not a direct connect so you will need to install a fPERC.
There are a few more configurations worth looking into. You can find them in the cabling section of the manual below.
