The Dell PowerEdge XE9712 is a 1U, direct liquid cooled compute sled for the Dell IR9048 rack, built on the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 rack-scale design. Each sled carries two GB300 superchips: two 72-core NVIDIA Grace CPUs and four Blackwell Ultra GPUs with 288GB HBM3e each. Rear NVLink5 connectors join the sled to the rack's NVLink switch trays, so 72 GPUs act as one pool. CPUs, GPUs and memory are fixed on the sled. You choose the boot drive, PCIe networking and management, and the E1.S drives once available.
- 8 front hot-swap EDSFF E1.S NVMe bays
- 2x GB300 superchips (2 Grace CPUs + 4 Blackwell Ultra GPUs) built in
- Front: 4x OSFP, BF3 ports, 1GbE LOM, BMC port, USB 3.0, Mini-DP
- Installs only in the Dell IR9048 ORv3 rack (54 V busbar, DLC manifold)
- No PSUs or bezel on the sled; power comes from the rack power shelves
- E1.S slots must be fully populated or blanked
- One chassis option for this server
Two GB300 superchips per sled. CPUs, GPUs and memory are fixed and not selectable.
- 2 CPUs per sled, 72 Arm cores each
- Up to 3.6 GHz
- NVLink-C2C to the GPUs at 900 GB/s
- 4 GPUs per sled (2 per superchip)
- 4 rear NVLink5 connectors to the rack NVLink switches
- 72 GPUs per IR9048 NVL72 rack
- Superchips are part of the sled; no CPU or GPU upgrades
- OS: NVIDIA GraceOS (Arm)
ⓘ Memory 480GB LPDDR5X ECC per Grace CPU, soldered on the GB300 board, plus 288GB HBM3e per GPU. There are no DIMM slots.
