With only 1 CPU and 4 DIMMs, there is little to cool off. The CPU has 1 small fan with the heat sink attached to it and in the rear, there is 1 Large Fan. These fans are not hot-swappable, please look at the manual for guidance if you plan to replace one yourself.

The Tower Server T150 has 4 x DDR4 UDIMM with a max memory of 128 GB.
| Feature | T150 (DDR4) |
|---|---|
| DIMM Type | UDIMM |
| Transfer Speed | 2666 MT/s, 2933 MT/s, and 3200 MT/s |
| Voltage | 1.2 V (DDR4) |
| DIMM type | Rank | Capacity | DIMM rated voltage and speed | DIMMs per Channel (DPC) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UDIMM | 1R | 8 GB/16 GB | DDR4 (1.2 V), 3200 MT/s | 3200 MT/s |
| 2R | 32 GB | DDR4 (1.2 V), 3200 MT/s | 3200 MT/s |
At the top of the Tower Chassis is a 9.5mm slimline slot for the Optical Drive. If the optical drive is not installed a Blank will automatically take its place.
The system has up to 4 PCIe slots available to use. 2 x PCIe Gen4 slots and 2 x PCIe Gen3 slots. Please double-check which slot you're installing your adapter into and make sure it has the correct bus width.
| PCIe slots | Processor Connection | Height | Length | Slot width | Power Consumption |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slot 1 | Processor 1 | Full-height | Half-length | x8 | 25 W |
| Slot 2 | Processor 1 | Full-height | Half-length | x16 | 75 W |
| Slot 3 | Platform Controller Hub | Full-height | Half-length | x1 | 10 W |
| Slot 4 | Platform Controller Hub | Full-height | Half-length | x8 | 25 W |
Besides the ability to add PCIe NIC Adapters the system also comes with a 2 x 1 GbE LOM.
When installing a Adapter card please be aware not all PCIe slots are the same. Above is a list of all the slots with size and power. You can look in the manuals below if you need more help as to which cards are supported in which slot.

The Dell Power Edge T550 Tower Server system has support for PERC 10 and PERC 11 cards for controlling the 4 cabled drives inside the T150 Tower Server.
This system supports a Boot Option of either the USB or the PCIe BOSS-S1. The BOSS-S1 is a PCIe BOOT Device that holds up to 2 x M.2 SSDs and will take up a PCIe slot when installed.
| Performance Level | Controller and Description |
|---|---|
| Entry | S150 (SATA), SW RAID SATA |
| Value | H345, H355, HBA355 (Internal) |
| Premium Performance | H755 |
| External Controllers | HBA355e |
The Power Supply Unit is not a hot swap and only supports 1. Since this system is not very big you will have no problem powering all the configurations supported.
