The Dell PowerEdge R740xd2 is a 2U two-socket storage server built to keep huge data sets on premises, from video archives and backup targets to software-defined storage nodes. It holds up to 26 3.5" drives (24 in front plus 2 in the rear) and runs up to two 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 22 cores each, with 16 DDR4 RDIMM slots for up to 1TB at 2933 MT/s. Up to five PCIe Gen3 slots, a LOM riser for 10GbE or 25GbE, BOSS M.2 boot and iDRAC9 round it out. Fully configurable.
