The Dell PowerEdge R650 Rack Server, powered by the 3rd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, is the optimal rack server to address application performance and acceleration. The Dell PowerEdge R650 Rack Server is a dual-socket/1U rack server that delivers outstanding performance for the most demanding workloads. It supports 8 channels of memory per CPU, and up to 32 DDR4 DIMMs @ 3200 MT/s speeds.
The Dell PowerEdge R650 Rack Server supports the following internal storage configuration.
Each system supports maximum of one Intel Persistent Memory 200 series (BPS) memory module per channel. These DIMMs can also be mixed with either RDIMMs or LRDIMMs. The manuals have a lot of rules for the PMem Memory. Please check out the manual for all the rules and ristrictions.

Dell’s RAID controller options offer performance improvements, including the fPERC solution. fPERC provides a base RAID HW controller without consuming a PCIe slot by using a small form factor and high-density connector to the base planar.
15G PERC Controller offerings will be a heavy leverage of 14G PERC family. The Value and Value Performance levels will carry over to 15G from 14G. New to 15G, is the Harpoon-based Premium Performance tier offering. This high-end offering will drive IOPs performance and enhanced SSD performance.

The IDSDM is unsupported if the Internal USB module is installed. You must choose between which one you would like to install. The IDSDM is perfect for booting the Hypervisor OS.
The Internal USB and IDSDM take up the same slot so they are not supported together. You must choose which one to install.
The BOSS M.2 Drives have their own dedicated BOSS Riser Kit that supports 1 Riser card with 2 M.2 SATA Drives. This BOSS is designed to boot a full OS system without allocating a drive to it.
The Dell PowerEdge R650 Rack Server have a no riser option. Shown below are the riser offerings for the PowerEdge R650.
