The Cisco UCS B200 M6 Blade Server is a high-performance, half-width blade server optimized for data center environments. It supports up to two Intel Xeon Scalable processors (3nd generation), offering up to 80 cores per server, delivering powerful computing capabilities for demanding workloads. The server can support up to 10 TB of DDR4 memory across 32 DIMM slots when persistent memory (Pmem) is installed, enabling high-memory configurations for resource-intensive applications. Storage options include two 2.5-inch drives, with support for SAS, SATA, SSD, and NVMe drives, offering flexibility for various data storage requirements. Integrated with Cisco UCS Manager, the B200 M6 provides seamless management and scalable infrastructure, making it an ideal solution for businesses looking to streamline operations and scale efficiently in modern data centers.
The Cisco UCS B200 M6 Blade Server is designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern data centers and enterprise applications. Its powerful processing performance and extensive memory capacity make it well-suited for a wide range of workloads, including virtualization, database management, and high-performance computing. The server offers versatile storage configurations, accommodating everything from transactional databases to large-scale data analytics. With its integration into Cisco UCS Manager, the B200 M6 streamlines system management, boosts operational efficiency, and accelerates deployment, providing organizations with a reliable solution to optimize and scale their IT infrastructure.
Front Mezzanine- Supports Storage Controllers
- UCSB-RAID12G-M6 - RAID Controller
- UCSB-LSTOR-PT-M6 - PCIe Pass Through
- UCSB-MSTOR-M6 - Mini storage carrier
Up to two SATA M.2 storage modules can be selected to be plugged into each UCS-M2-HWRAID module, which is then plugged into the UCSB-MSTOR-M6 mini storage carrier. Two SATA M.2 storage modules in the same UCS-M2-HWRAID module must be the same capacity.
mLOM Slot- Dedicated Slot
- Delivers up to 80 Gbps total I/O throughput to the server
- 1440/15411 adapter only
- Supports 2x40 (native) Gbps Unified I/O ports
Provides two Converged Network Adapter (CNA) ports, supporting both Ethernet and FCoE
Adapter Slot- All other cards plug into the adapter slot
- Supports Port Expander (4x10Gb)
Prot Expander vs Adapter. They both provide 80 Gbps to the Enclosure 5108, but the Adapter configuration provides redundancy.

- Holds up to 2 M.2 SATA SSDs
- RAID 1 and JBOD mode
- The SATA M.2 drives can boot in UEFI mode only.
- (CIMC/UCSM) is supported for configuring of volumes and monitoring
- Hot-plug replacement is not supported.
For M.2 SATA drives, select the boot-optimized RAID controller (UCS-M2-HWRAID) for hardware RAID across one or two SATA M.2 drives, and one UCSB-MSTOR-M6 mini storage carrier. The RAID controller connects to the mini-storage carrier, and up to two SATA M.2 drives plug into the RAID controller.
Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC)
- Intel® VROC is only supported with Intel drives
- Small Form Factor (SFF) drive support (only)
- RAID 0/1/5/10 support
- No battery backup (BBU) or external SuperCap needed
- Intel VROC NVMe operates in UEFI mode only
The server supports Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC), an enterprise RAID solution for Intel NVMe SSDs. Intel® VMD is a controller integrated into the CPU PCIe root complex, allowing Intel® VMD NVMe SSDs to connect directly to the CPU. This enables the full performance potential of Intel® Optane™ SSDs. Intel® VROC replaces traditional hardware RAID HBA cards, providing more direct connectivity between the drives and the CPU.
