The Dell PowerVault ME4084 is an exceptional storage array that offers high-speed data transfer and ample cache memory for optimal performance. With 8GB of cache in the 84 3.5" HDDs chassis, this storage array is designed to meet the needs of small businesses that require a reliable and efficient storage solution.
Easily ex ME4012, ME4024, and ME4084 arrays by connecting PowerVault ME412, ME424, and ME484 expansion enclosures with 12G SAS backend connectivity. The high-performance PowerVault ME4 3.5” and 2.5" HDDs and 2.5” SSDs (SED drives available) can be flexibly mixed to achieve the capacity you need. The support for these different drive types allows you to configure ME4 Series as a hybrid-flash or all-flash array for maximum performance.
One of the standout features of the Dell PowerVault ME4 is the flexibility it offers in terms of storage controller options. With three different options to choose from you can select the protocol that best suits your needs.

6 x 12Gb SAS ports per array
These same chassis form factors are used for the supported expansion enclosures; but with I/O modules instead of controller modules. To make this system an expansion Array you simply need to install the 3-port 12Gb IOM SAS Module in the rear of the system. With this new I/O Module installed you can daisy chain up to 9 2U or 3 5U Systems to the ME4024 SAN Storage Array.

The ME4012 and ME4024 base arrays are available in non-dense configurations starting at 2U, while the dense ME4084 array starts at 5U. Both models include dual controllers with Dual-core Intel Xeon processors, 8GB per controller, and 4x10Gb iSCSI, 4x12Gb SAS, and 4x16Gb FC network connections (auto-negotiation supported on iSCSI and FC).
ME4084 storage systems support up to three ME484 expansion enclosures.
