The Dell EMC PowerEdge R7525 is a dual-socket 2U rack server built for flexible I/O and networking configurations. Powered by AMD EPYC Generation 2 and Generation 3 processors, it supports up to 32 DIMMs, PCIe Gen4 expansion slots, and a range of network interface technology options.
The R7525 includes 6 hot-swappable fans and offers two heat sink types — installing any GPUs requires the L-type heat sink along with the GPU shroud.
The new liquid cooling solution efficiently regulates system temperature while offering leak detection through iDRAC via the Liquid Leak Sensor (LLS) mechanism, capable of identifying leaks as small as 0.02ml or as large as 0.2ml. Liquid cooling isn't required across all systems — it's primarily intended for GPU-equipped configurations. Refer to the manual for more details.

The PowerEdge R7525 system supports two Network Interface Controller (NIC) ports embedded on the LOM card.

The R7525 can hold up to 6 SW or 3 DW GPUs. Below you will see a few rules to follow with GPU installations.
- 12 x 3.5-inch and 24 x 2.5-inch NVMe systems do not support GPU/FPGA cards.
- All GPU/FPGA cards require an L-type heat sink and GPU shroud, irrespective of the length.
- The GPU air shroud top cover is part of the GPU air shroud.
- Low Profile and Full Height T4 cards are installed in order to support maximun 6 pcs T4 in x 16 slots.
