With its short-height (1U) and short-depth (24-inch) chassis, the R430 overcomes space constraints without compromising on performance or storage capacity.
The R430 boasts up to 12 DDR4 DIMMs, 2 PCIe 3.0 I/O slots and scalable internal storage capacity of up to 10 x 2.5" hard drives. This, combined with its energy-efficient processors, memory, power supplies, and Fresh Air 2.0 capability, ensures maximum operational efficiency, driving better ROI and saving time for IT administrators.

The integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 8 (iDRAC8) with Lifecycle Controller automates deployment, making it easier and quicker to deploy servers. IT administrators can monitor and update servers with intuitive, automated tools, while the expandable platform is ready for virtualization and high-availability clustering, allowing for greater versatility and adaptability to changing workload conditions.
Whether it's for HPC, web serving, infrastructure scale-out, surveillance, site security, or dedicated backup or development needs, the PowerEdge R430 delivers peak 2-socket performance in a compact package, making it an excellent fit for space-constrained data centers.
Your system includes a dedicated expansion card slot on the system board for an integrated storage controller card. Theintegrated storage controller card provides the integrated storage subsystem for the internal hard drives in your system.Thecontroller supports SAS and SATA hard drives and also enables you to set up the hard drives in RAID configurations. The RAIDconfigurations depend on the version of the storage controller included with your system. The controller supports SAS harddrives.
This iDRAC Port and Slot card provides the system with a 1GbE management port and the SD Slot for a vFlash SD card.
The Internal Dual SD module (IDSDM) provides you with a redundant SD card solution. You can configure the IDSDM for storageor as the OS boot partition.
An optional USB memory key installed inside your system can be used as a boot device, security key, or mass storage device.To boot from the USB memory key, configure the USB memory key with a boot image and then specify the USB memory key in the boot sequence in System Setup.
The PowerEdge R430 system supports PCI express (PCIe) Generation 2 and 3 expansion cards, which need to be installed on the system board using expansion card risers. This system supports two types of expansion card risers.

The PowerEdge R430 system supports up to two AC redundant power supply units (PSUs) and a single AC cabled PSU. The non-redundant configuration has One cabled 450W PSU. The second supported option is the redundant 550W 60MM PSUs. These PSUs can not be mixed, in the redundant configuration both PSUs must have the same max output. A cabled PSU is supported in systems with cabled hard drives and systems with x4 backplane.
