Memory Population Rules

Following these general memory configuration guidelines helps ensure optimal system performance — deviating from them may cause boot failures, unresponsiveness during memory configuration, or reduced available memory.

Memory Rules
  • Maximum 8 DIMMs per processor and 16 DIMMs in total.
  • Supports DDR5 registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) up to 4800 MT/s.
  • All DIMMs must be DDR5.
  • Memory mixing is not supported for different DIMM capacities.
