The FAS3160 provides outstanding value. The FAS3160 lets you consolidate diverse data moving through your business onto a unified storage platform that provides simultaneous block and file services for business and technical applications. With the FAS3100 series, you can unlock the full potential of you growing virtualized server environment by enabling virtual machine mobility and offloading the work the work of data protection.
The FAS3160 comes with Snapshot® which reduces backup times to minutes. SnapManager® quickly returns applications to the same point in time as recovered data. NetApp's high-performance RAID 6 (RAID-DP) offers dual parity and better data protection and capacity utilization than RAID 5 and RAID 1+0.
The FAS3160 offers a great mix of value and performance against a wide range of application workloads, file services, OLTP, and messaging and collaboration. It's high-bandwidth, 64-bit controller architecture with large memory cache and the latest I/O technologies, provides data at the rates you need to keep the most demanding business and technical applications running smoothly. The FAS3170 lets you combine high-performance Fibre Channel and large-capacity SATA disk drives in storage tiers for optimal performance and cost. You can also consolidate block and file storage by providing native support of the FCP, iSCSI, FCoE, NFS and CIFS storage protocols via both Fibre Channel and Ethernet interfaces.
The FAS3160 utilizes up to 672 disks and can support a maximum raw capacity of 2,016TB in HA or Stand Alone. Supports (4) 4GbE FC ports and (2) 1GbE RJ45. Each Controller/Chassis comes with 4 PCIe Slots for adapters.
