The refurbished HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen10 server is an enhanced single processor tower with performance, expansion, and security at an affordable price. It supports the Intel Xeon Scalable processor, HPE DDR4 SmartMemory with a maximum capacity of 192 GB, five PCIe slots, eight large form factor (LFF) or 16 small form factor (SFF) disk drives. It can easily be converted to a rack using 4.5U of rack space.

The HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen10 server also offers optional redundant fan and redundant power supply to satisfy automatic fail-over needs, making this the ideal server for small- to mid-sized businesses, and remote and branch offices.

Starting off!
After you choose the Chassis with the correct Drive Cage you need to select the processor. When you select the processor the System board with automatically be selected. This is because the 878926-001 supports first-generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors while the P11532-001 system board supports second-generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors.

HPE ML110 Gen10 Tower Server can have (4) LFF Non-Hot-Plug (NHP) SATA Drives, 4 LFF Hot-Plug SATA/SAS HDD Drives, or 8 SFF Hot-Plug SATA/SAS SSD Drives. The NHP Chassis is limited to the embedded storage controller S100i while the Hot-Plug Chassis can support more options. HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 SW RAID is off by default and must be enabled. For enabling please select HPE FIO Enable Smart Array SW RAID (784308-B21). Both Hot-Plug Chassis can support a second drive cage of the same Drive Form Factor. Mixing of Form Factors is not supported in the ML110 Gen10 HPE Tower Server.

The embedded S100i controller supports up to 10 SATA ports as the 2 additional ports are leveraged to support the M.2 option. When installing the HPE 12G SAS expander card option kit (P11359-B21) in PCI-e Slot 5 for the ability to have 16 SFF SAS/SATA Drive. You’ll also need to install a Performance Smart Array and cable the backplane correctly with mini-SAS cables. That’s not all, since you need a performance smart array, you’ll need the HPE Smart Storage Battery (P01367-B21) and the holder (786710-B21) which are sold separately.

The Gen10 ML110 HPE Tower server supports the NS240i-p Boot Device (P12965-B21 - P14379-001) which holds 2x480GB SSD NVMe drives. There is also another M.2 option on this server with the installation of the HPE Universal SATA 6G AIC HHHL M.2 SSD Enablement Kit (878783-B21). The M.2 SSD enablement board is supported in the PCIe3 expansion slots 1, 3, and 4.

Are you going to install GPU Accelerators at all?
The server PCI-e 3.0 slot 1 only supports half-length GPUs, and PCI-e 3.0 slot 4 supports both half-length and full-length GPUs. This server does not support the installation of different GPU models in the same system. GPUs that have a power requirement higher than 75W also require higher wattage of power supplies. In this case, the lower wattage of ATX 350W non-hot-plug power supply does not support these GPUs and you’ll need to upgrade to the 550W or higher. Max support of 2 GPUs unless the RTX4000, only 1 is supported in slot 4 with the GPU holder.

Lets Talk Cooling!
The HPE ML110 Gen10 Redundant Fan with 4 Fans Kit (869489-B21) contains the redundant system and PCI fans. Mixed default fan + redundant fan configuration in the same server is not supported. The redundant fan kit is needed when the following configuration is met. When a second HDD cage is installed and the SAS HDDs are running at 15K RPM or, when a SAS SSD is installed. Whenever these conditions are met and there is a need for a redundant fan kit, the HPE ML110 Gen10 Redundant Power Supply Enablement Kit (867875-B21) is also needed to support the fans.

Storage Controllers?
The base / Entry storage controller module is the HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 SW RAID Controller. The S100i supports 10 ports as 2 additional ports are leveraged to support the M.2 option. The embedded controller has RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 on SATA drive. NHP SATA is limited to the S100i controller. When upgrading to a performance Smart Array, you will need the HPE smart storage battery (P01367-B21) and the holder (786710-B21 ) which are sold separately.

Add this SAS Expander option kit to upgrade your ML110 Gen10 SFF system configured with either P408i-p or E208i-p will support 16 SFF drives. This option is not supported with the LFF Chassis and in this server, the expander card is supported in the PCIe3 expansion slot 5. If you install the SAS expander and then install SAS SSD’s into your chassis, the power supply unit will need to be upgraded to the 800W Redundant Power supply (865414-B21 - 865438-B21). This RPSU needs the HPE ML110 Gen10 Redundant Power Supply Enablement Kit (867875-B21) along with the redundant Fan Kit (869489-B21) to support the 16 SAS SFF Drives.

That’s not all, this ML110 Gen10 HPE Tower Server supports (2) NVMe M.2 PCI-e 3.0x8 Drives on the NS204i-p PCI-e 3.0x8 Boot Device (P12965-B21) or the HPE Universal SATA 6G AIC HHHL M.2 SSD Enablement Kit (878783-B21). This Boot device is only supported in UEFI mode and both kits come with M.2 Drives. The recommended PCI-e slots are 1, 3, and 4

HPE Entry-Level 350W ATX Power Supply Kit provides lower-cost options for customers to balance their need for enterprise-class efficiency and reliability while maintaining the lowest possible hardware costs. The HPE 550W ATX Power Supply is the standard, non-redundant AC power supply option for most HPE ProLiant Gen10 Essential servers. When installing an HPE Flexible Slot (Flex Slot) Power Supply you will also need this HPE ML110 Gen10 Redundant Power Supply Enablement Kit (867875-B21). If only one of the two Redundant PSU are installed, you must fill the other slot with the PSU Blank (775423-001).

If the second HDD cage is installed with SAS HDD running at 15K RPM or if a SAS SSD is installed. Then the system will need both redundant fans and 800W RPS to accommodate the load coming from the server.

Lights Out! iLO
iLO 5
is a remote server management processor embedded on the system boards of HPE ProLiant servers and Synergy compute modules. iLO enables the monitoring and controlling of servers from remote locations.
iLO RESTful API is Redfish API conformance and offers simplified server management automation such as configuration and maintenance tasks based on modern industry standards.
HPE OneView Standard can be used for inventory, health monitoring, alerting, and reporting without additional fees. It can monitor multiple HPE server generations. The user interface is similar to the HPE OneView Advanced version, but the software-defined functionality is not available.

    • LRDIMM is not qualified by this server. This server does not support mixing LRDIMMs and RDIMMs. Attempting to mix any combination of these DIMMs can cause the server to halt during BIOS installation. All memory installed in the server must be of the same type.
    • The maximum memory speed is a function of the memory type, memory configuration, and processor model.

    • Bus width indicates the number of physical electrical lanes running to the connector.
    • Although the speed of slot is designed for 32 Gb/s, the actual running speed will be lower than it was designed. Hence slot 2 and slot 5 will be least recommended for usage.

    • HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 SW RAID will operate in UEFI mode only. For legacy support an additional Controller will be needed, and for CTO orders please also select the legacy mode settings part, 758959-B22.
    • HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 SW RAID is OFF by default and must be enabled.

ECS Warranty Information

Express Computer Systems (ECS) provides a 1 year parts warranty against defects in material or workmanship that will affect the products functionality. All refurbished items are tested prior to shipping to guarantee up-time upon arrival. If you are having issues with an item we provided please Contact Us and we will do our best to assist you.

What does our ECS warranty cover?
We offer 1 year warranty as standard and additional years can be added to fit your needs. Please reach out to a sales associate via the Contact Us page or live chat for more information on extended coverage options. During the coverage period if your product fails we will offer a Next Business Day replacement. If we are unable to replace the product we will refund its original selling price. Shipping costs and tax are not refundable. Express Computer Systems retains the right to decide whether the goods will be replaced or refunded.

What is not covered by our warranty?
Our warranty does not cover any problem caused by the following conditions:

  1. accidents; misuse; carelessness; electrostatic discharge; shock; temperature or humidity beyond the specifications of the product; improper installation; operation; modification;
  2. any improper use that contravenes the instructions in the user manual;
  3. problems caused by other equipment. Our warranty is void if the product is returned with damaged, removed, counterfeit labels, or any modifications (including any component or external cover removal). Our warranties do not cover data loss or damages to any other equipment. In addition, our warranties do not cover incidental damages, consequential damages, or costs related to data recovery, removal, and installation.

Important notes:

  • Please ask for additional warranty/coverage that you may require in addition to the standard 1 ECS warranty prior to final purchase. Requesting additional warranty after your purchase can be denied.
