Dell PowerEdge XE8640

The Dell PowerEdge XE8640 is a 4U dual-socket GPU server for AI training, inferencing and HPC simulation. Four NVIDIA HGX H100 80GB SXM5 GPUs are linked by NVLink for up to 900GB/s of GPU-to-GPU bandwidth, driven by two 4th or 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 64 cores each and up to 4TB of DDR5 at 5600 MT/s. CPUs are air cooled and GPUs use closed-loop liquid-assisted air cooling, so no facility water is needed. Fully configurable.

Four NVIDIA HGX H100 80GB SXM5 GPUs at 700W each, fully interconnected with NVLink for up to 900GB/s GPU-to-GPU bandwidth, with support for NVIDIA Multi-Instance GPU and GPUDirect Storage.

Two 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 56 cores or 5th Gen with up to 64 cores, and 32 DDR5 RDIMM slots for up to 4TB. Memory runs at up to 5600 MT/s with one DIMM per channel and 4400 MT/s with two.

Up to eight 2.5-inch SAS, SATA or NVMe SSDs, or up to eight E3.S NVMe SSDs at the front, on a PERC H965i controller, plus BOSS-N1 M.2 boot. Please specify your capacity needs when you submit your quote configuration.

The processors are air cooled, while the GPUs use closed-loop liquid-assisted air cooling, so no facility water to the rack is required. Four Titanium 2800W or 3200W power supplies run in 3+1 redundancy.

The XE8640 is a 4U SXM5 platform with four NVLink-connected H100 GPUs, DDR5-5600 memory and PCIe Gen5. The Gen 15 R750xa is a 2U server that takes up to four double-width PCIe GPUs, with DDR4-3200 memory, Optane PMem support and more PCIe Gen4 slots.
