Twenty-four drive chassis

Front-accessible storage options include up to twenty-four 3.5" SATA or nearline SAS drives across slots 0–23, or up to eight 2.5" SAS/SATA SSDs installed in slots 16–23.
Twenty-four front + two rear drive chassis

Storage flexibility includes up to twenty-four 3.5" SATA or nearline SAS drives, front-accessible in slots 0–23, plus up to two additional 3.5" SAS/SATA drives accessible from the rear.

NOTE:

Slot placement varies by configuration — single PERC setups use slots 24–25, while dual PERC configurations, including S140 software RAID, use slots 0–1.
