Disk Array Enclosure (DAE)

The Dell EMC Unity 450F supports all two types of DAE’s. When calculating the number of drives make sure to count the DPE drives as well in the total.

  • 2U 25-drive DAE with 2.5” drives
  • 3U 80-drive DAE with 2.5” drives

25-drive DPE:

3.4 inches high x 17.5 inches wide x 24.17 inches deep (8.64 cm x 44.45 cm x 61.39 cm) 44 lb (20 kg)

The all-flash Models support only 1 Drive Carrier type, the 25x2.5”. Each Dell Unity 450F has 2 Storage Processors (SP’s) in the rear with 2 CNA ports and 2 Module slots that can hold up to 6 different modules.

Please Note: The Dell EMC Unity hybrid models are the only ones to support FAST and FAST VP technology which helps with tiered storage and accessibility to high-frequency data.
