The EqualLogic Type 15 SAS/NL-SAS/SSD Controller is built for high-performance storage environments using Dell's PS6210 Series arrays, including the PS6210E, PS6210S, PS6210X, PS6210XS, and PS6210XV. It features 16GB of onboard cache, 2x 10GBASE-T ports, 2x 10GbE SFP+ ports, and a 10/100mb management interface. This controller supports a flexible drive configuration of up to 24 NL-SAS, SAS, or SSDs—or a hybrid setup with 17 SAS and 7 SSDs.
Designed with enterprise reliability in mind, the Type 15 controller includes battery-backed cache, hot swap support, and cache-to-flash memory destaging for data protection during power events. The unit can auto-negotiate to 1Gb Ethernet as needed and is easily identified by its dark grey label.
