The FAS6080 provides easy to use platforms for managing your NAS or SAN without having to manage them separately. You can easily manage both in a single system with the concurrent support for block and file protocols using Ethernet and Fibre Channel interfaces, found in all of the FAS series systems. The FAS6080 uses Data ONTAP which includes FlexShare quality-of-service software. FlexShare allows your storage administrators to set and dynamically adjust workload priorities.
All FAS systems support Windows, UNIX and Linux host operating systems, as well as VMware server virtualization. The FAS6080 uses redundant, hot-swappable components, and with our patented dual-parity RAID-DP (High-Performance RAID 6), you get superior data protection with little or no performance loss. FAS6080 includes Snapshot technology you get near-instantaneous file-level or full data set recovery, while using a very small amount of storage. Snapshot creates up to 255 data-in-place, point-in-time images per LUN or file system.
The FAS6080 can utilize up to 1176 drives and supports a maximum raw capacity of 1176TB. The FAS6080 has 64GB of memory and can support a maximum of 80 4Gbps FC ports as well as support for 8Gbps Fibre Channel and 10GbE.
