The FAS3240 is a midrange platform tailored to deliver the performance, expandability, and capacity scaling critical to the needs of your growing business. Fully Flash-ready systems support internal Flash, solid-state disk (SSDs), and advanced server cache, so you can achieve optimum performance while minimizing your total investment in Flash, which significantly reduces the total storage capacity you need. FAS3240 easily scales performance and capacity without disrupting operations bringing a new level of agility to midrange storage.
The FAS3240 provides up to 80% more I/O per second, enabling you to drive your business faster. You can easily boost performance by using the broad range of Flash products in the NetApp Virtual Storage Tier. FAS3240 can be configured with up to 2TB of high-speed Flash Cache PCIe cards or Flash Pools of SSDs. Flash Pool allows you to combine SSDs and HDDs; workloads get the performance benefits of SSDs with the capacity of HDDs.
The FAS3240 supports a maximum raw capacity of 1200TB and can utilize up to 600 drives. Supporting FC, FCoE, IP SAN (iSCSI), NFS, CIFS, HTTP, FTP networking protocols, the FAS3240 can scale out for any enterprise environment while utilizing Data ONTAP 8.
