Drive Rules and Limitations
  • You can mix HDDs and SSDs as long as you keep all HDDs in their own RAID volume and all SSDs in their own RAID volume.
  • You can mix SAS HDDs and SAS/SATA SSDs when using the Cisco 12G SAS RAID controller or Cisco 12G SAS HBA.
  • If you order any SFF NVMe rear drives, you must also order two CPUs.
  • SED drives can be mixed with non-SED drives in Table 11 on page 27
  • 2.5-inch SFF NVMe drives are connected directly to the CPU, and are not managed by the RAID controller or SAS HBA.
  • You cannot mix SAS/SATA with NVMe rear drives. They must be all SAS/SATA or all NVMe
  • A midplane kit (PID UCSC-MPSTOM6L-KIT) is required
  • If a Midplane is installed GPUs are not supported.

Memory Options

32 DDR4 DIMM slots: 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 GB up to 3200 MHz Support for the Intel Optane DC persistent memory (128G, 256G, 512G). DIMM mixing is not allowed when PMem are installed; in these cases, all DIMMs must be the same type and size.

PCIe Expansion Options

8 PCIe 4.0 slots, 1 dedicated 12-Gbps RAID controller slot and 1 dedicated mLOM slot. With 8PCIe slots the system is able to support up to 5 A10 Single Wide GPUs. Slots 4, 5, and 6 on riser card 2A accommodate single-wide GPUs.

Riser 2 and 3 connect to CPU 2 and if they are not installed then you will need to add the Riser Filler Blanks for optimal air flow.

GPU

256 GB DIMMs cannot be combined with GPU cards. When a GPU is ordered, the server comes with low-profile heatsinks PID (UCSC-HSLP-M6=) and needs to select a special air duct PID (UCSC-ADGPU-240M6=) for GPUs.

Depending on your CIMC settings, the CIMC can be accessed through the 1GE dedicated management port, the 1GE/10GE OCP/mLOM ports, or a Cisco virtual interface card (VIC).

What does our ECS warranty cover?
We offer 1 year warranty as standard and additional years can be added to fit your needs. Please reach out to a sales associate via the Contact Us page or live chat for more information on extended coverage options. During the coverage period if your product fails we will offer a Next Business Day replacement. If we are unable to replace the product we will refund its original selling price. Shipping costs and tax are not refundable. Express Computer Systems retains the right to decide whether the goods will be replaced or refunded.

What is not covered by our warranty?
Our warranty does not cover any problem caused by the following conditions:

  1. accidents; misuse; carelessness; electrostatic discharge; shock; temperature or humidity beyond the specifications of the product; improper installation; operation; modification;
  2. any improper use that contravenes the instructions in the user manual;
  3. problems caused by other equipment. Our warranty is void if the product is returned with damaged, removed, counterfeit labels, or any modifications (including any component or external cover removal). Our warranties do not cover data loss or damages to any other equipment. In addition, our warranties do not cover incidental damages, consequential damages, or costs related to data recovery, removal, and installation.

Important notes:

  • Please ask for additional warranty/coverage that you may require in addition to the standard 1 ECS warranty prior to final purchase. Requesting additional warranty after your purchase can be denied.
