The NVIDIA M6 GPU is a blade-optimized graphics card tailored for virtualized environments. Installed into mezzanine slot 2 of the Cisco UCS B200 M4 Blade Server, it delivers advanced graphics acceleration ideal for VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) and other compute-visual applications. The M6 card uses NVIDIA GRID 2.0 software to deliver GPU virtualization, enabling multiple users to share GPU resources securely. It supports hardware-accelerated graphics with low latency and is bundled with a custom standoff and wrench for secure installation. When installed, the card requires exclusive access to its slot and must not be combined with other adapters like VIC 1380 or port expanders.
In the Cisco UCS B200 M4 ecosystem, the NVIDIA M6 enables high-performance desktop virtualization in dense data center environments. Since the M6 occupies slot 2, administrators must route all I/O through a compatible VIC card—typically the VIC 1340 or 1240—installed in the mLOM slot. These VICs are only compatible with the 6200 and 6300 Series Fabric Interconnects, setting strict hardware constraints for successful deployment. This architecture allows the B200 M4 server to provide rich user experiences in remote desktop and CAD-heavy environments, while maintaining Cisco’s blade server density and management efficiency.
