Cntlr-Shelf (Controller-to-Shelf) – This means the cable is used to connect a storage controller (such as an AFF or FAS system) to a disk shelf. This connection allows the controller to manage the disk shelves in the storage system.
Shelf-Shelf (Shelf-to-Shelf) – This indicates that the cable can be used to interconnect two disk shelves. This is important for expanding storage capacity by linking multiple disk shelves together.
HA (High Availability) – This refers to a high-availability configuration where two controllers are connected to ensure redundancy and failover capabilities. In a NetApp HA pair, each controller can take over the other’s workload in case of a failure.
QDR (Quad Data Rate) InfiniBand is a high-speed networking standard within the InfiniBand family, designed for low-latency, high-throughput data communication in high-performance computing (HPC) and data centers.
