The Dell 3.5" Drive Tray Caddie is compatible with both servers and storage units across Dell's 11th, 12th, and 13th generation platforms. It supports large form factor (LFF) drives and is easily identified by the stepped cutaways at the end of the caddy frame.
This KG1CH tray is validated for use in both environments, unlike server-only caddies. Ideal for flexible deployments, it ensures reliable drive mounting whether you're expanding server capacity or provisioning storage arrays.
Not all Gen 13 Drive Caddies are supported by Server and Storage units. This Drive Tray Caddy can go only to Servers, not Storage Units. You can tell this by the stepped cutaways at the end of the drive Caddy. The second image above shows this cutout.
