The Dell PowerEdge XE9785 is the AMD-based member of Dell's 10U air-cooled AI family, built for generative AI training, large language models, recommendation engines and HPC simulation. Two 5th Gen AMD EPYC 9005 processors with up to 192 cores each drive up to 6TB of DDR5 at 6400 MT/s. It takes one of two eight-GPU trays: eight AMD Instinct MI355X 288GB 1400W OAM accelerators connected through AMD Infinity Fabric, or eight NVIDIA HGX B300 288GB 1100W SXM6 GPUs connected through NVLink. Choosing B300 also adds eight embedded ConnectX-8 OSFP ports for back-end cluster networking.

Two 5th Gen AMD EPYC 9005 Series processors, with SKUs from 48 up to 192 cores and up to 500W TDP. Each socket has twelve DDR5 channels at one DIMM per channel, giving 24 RDIMM slots that run at up to 6400 MT/s. With 96GB or 128GB RDIMMs memory reaches 2.3TB or 3TB, and 256GB RDIMMs, offered only with the B300 tray, take it to 6TB.

Storage is direct-attached Gen5 NVMe only: up to sixteen E3.S SSDs or ten 2.5-inch U.2 SSDs, plus a BOSS-N1 module with two M.2 drives for the OS. A PCIe Gen5 switch feeds up to twelve front x16 FHHL slots with MI355X GPUs, or four with B300, and there is one OCP 3.0 NIC slot. Please specify your capacity needs when you submit your quote configuration.

It is entirely air cooled. A rear sled holds fifteen hot-swap GPU fans and five cold-swap fans cool the CPU tray. Twelve 3200W Titanium power supplies run in 6+6 full redundancy, and A/B grid redundancy can be selected in iDRAC10.

The XE9785 is a 10U Gen 17 system that moves to AMD EPYC 9005 CPUs with up to 192 cores, DDR5-6400 with up to 6TB, MI355X or B300 GPUs, NVMe-only Gen5 drives, twelve 3200W PSUs and iDRAC10. The 6U Gen 16 XE9680 runs 4th/5th Gen Intel Xeon with 32 DIMM slots at 5600 MT/s, H100, H200, H20, MI300X or Gaudi 3 accelerators, SAS/SATA drive options and iDRAC9.
