The Dell iDRAC7 Dedicated Port Card (WD6D2) enhances remote management capabilities for select 12th-generation PowerEdge servers. It provides a dedicated RJ45 port for comprehensive out-of-band management, allowing administrators to monitor, update, and troubleshoot servers regardless of operating system state. (Enterprise License needed for some features)
Key features include a dedicated 1GbE management port, virtual console and media support, vFlash for virtual storage, and integration with directory services. Although iDRAC7 reached End of Sale in February 2017 and End of Software Maintenance in February 2020, the hardware remains functional, with the final firmware version being 2.65.65.65.
