The HPE Gen10 NVMe FIO Setting (873373 - B21 ) is required to support SFF NVMe SSDs within the system. This option is not compatible with the HPE Smart Array P204 i-b. You must install both the pass-through controller and the FIO Settings along with the NVMe Backplane that will be configured with the chassis.
