The NetApp FAS3240 is a versatile 3U storage platform that supports both standalone and high-availability (HA) configurations. With single or dual controllers, it offers up to 16GB of total memory and safeguards data through RAID 4 and RAID-DP. An expansion IOMX (IOXM) chassis allows the system to scale seamlessly and accommodate changing workload requirements.

Each controller features a 64-bit, 2.33GHz quad-core processor, along with 1GbE, 4Gb FC, and 6Gb SAS connectivity. Six PCIe slots (when combined with the IOXM) enable further expansion for network or storage interface cards. Remote management capabilities also simplify administration, ensuring that critical business operations remain continuous.

The FAS3240 supports up to 600 drives for a maximum capacity of 3.6PB and works with a range of NetApp disk shelves, including DS14, DS2246, DS424x, and DS4486 models. It accommodates various drive types—FC, MSATA, NL-SAS, SAS, SATA, or SSD—offering flexible performance and capacity options for mid-sized enterprise environments seeking scalable, reliable storage.
