CTO Configuration Support
ChassisYou have the choice of 4 CTO Chassis. They are split up for Processor and Drive reasons. Since this system can handle Intel Xeon e5-4600 V3 (759483-001) and V4 (858552-001 ). Both go on their own System board which can handle certain Memory DIMM speeds. The Chassis are also broken out into Drive Type. This system has two different backplanes to be installed on the drive cages. The SAS/SATA backplane (795117-001) and the NVMe backplane (744413-001 ). Below are more details into each type.
NVMe Drives
You must select the NVMe chassis, this has the NVMe backplane installed on it. You must also select the NVMe Pass-through controller along with the HPE BL460c G9 Broadwell NVMe FIO Setting (825555-B21) . This FIO option disables SFF bays 3 and 4 and is not compatible with the HPE Smart Array P246br. Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends the use of a dual M.2 solid state drive kit for boot when using this option. Once all of these are selected you can only choose up to (2) NVMe SSD Drives. When these Drives are installed the other two drive bays are non-functional and blanks will cover them.
SAS/SATA Drives
This server comes standard with the B140i Controller. This controller only supports SATA drives. If the HPE Smart Array P244br SAS Controller is not selected then 2 SATA cables will need to be installed. If you want to have RAID enabled while using Factory Standard B140i you'll also need to install the HPE FIO B140i SW RAID Enablement Kit (784308-B21).
For SAS Drives the HPE Smart Array P246br/1GB FBWC 12Gb 4 - ports Int SAS Controller (726793-B21) along with SAS cables will enable this server to run 4 SAS Drives.
HPE iLO Management (standard)Monitor your servers for ongoing management, service alerting, reporting and remote management with iLO. Configure and boot your servers securely with industry standard Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI).
Server UtilitiesHPE Smart Update - Optimize firmware and driver updates with HPE Smart Update solutions. HPE OneView Standard - HPE OneView Standard can inventory, monitor, alert, and report on your G6 thru (G9) servers, with use of the REST API and HPE OneView user interface.
Up to three (3) optional Fibre Channel mezzanine HBAs and (2) FlexibleLOMs providing four Ethernet ports are supported on the HPE ProLiant BL660c (G9).
When an InfiniBand adapter is installed in mezzanine slot 1, only one port is active (regardless of operating mode). When installed in any other mezzanine slot, both ports are active. The FDR InfiniBand adapter must be installed in mezzanine slot 1 for FDR mode and may be installed in any mezzanine slot if operated in any other mode. Optional dual-port Fibre Channel mezzanine card(s) for redundant SAN connections.
